Interior Decorating Service
Every project is unique and tailored to your specific needs and desires. The areas of scope and style preferences may influence the cost of the project. My fees are broken down into five parts, which are outlined below to assist you in budgeting for my services:
Consultation - $65 +GST
During an interior decorating consultation, I will visit your home or property to discuss your design needs and preferences. I will ask you questions about your lifestyle and your personal style to get a better understanding of what you're looking for. I will also take measurements and photographs of your space to help me create a design and decorating plan. A budget/investment amount, and images from the internet or magazines will be required from you to guide me. Below is the minimum expenditure required for each space, which may encompass some or all of the following elements: furniture, soft furnishings, lighting, décor, improvements, and treatments for windows, walls, and floors.
- Hallway and Entry: $1,500
- Study/Home Office: $2,500
- Dining Room: $4,000
- Living Room: $7,500
- Kitchen: $15,000
- Bathroom: $15,000
- Children's or Guest Bedroom: $3,000
- Primary Bedroom: $4,000
- Outdoor Living Area/Alfresco: $5,000
Please note that this amount does not include the decorator's fee.
An invoice will be issued after the Consultation. The interior decorating consultation is an important step in creating a space that is both beautiful and functional. By working with a decorator, you can ensure that your space reflects your personal style and meets your unique needs.
2. Decorator Plan Fee Stage 1 - $100 + GST per room/space. This includes:
- Concept plan
- Shopping list
- Approval
- Invoice will be issued for Stage 1
3. Decorating Plan Fee Stage 2 - $150 + GST and payment for materials. This includes:
- Invoice will be issued for stage 2. Payment for labour and materials is now due upfront, allowing me to purchase all wares, finishes, fittings, furniture, and furnishings.
- I will place orders and coordinate the delivery of all items.
- Managing any damaged or missing deliverables
- Liaising with suppliers and trades on design, timeline, and budget
4. Trade Fee/s
- Trade invoice/s will be issued
5. Decorator's Assembly, Execution and Decorating Fee - $75 + GST p/h
- A final reveal will be presented once all items are in place, installed, and fitted. You will also receive warranty and maintenance information for specific products. The final invoice will be issued.
It is worth noting that creating good design takes time, but it is also exciting and rewarding. To ensure a smooth process of your design and decorating project, Payment of decorating plan fees stage 2 is required in full 28 days prior to the commencement of the project.
Please note that lead and wait times for suppliers and trades are longer during October to December. Additionally, most trades, construction, and suppliers shut down over the Christmas/New Year period.
